Meta opens early access to new Muse AI features
Meta opened early access requests for new Muse AI app features teased at its Connect 2026 conference, letting users request access by prompting the assistant directly.
Meta is opening early access requests for a wave of new features coming to its Muse AI app, following announcements made this week at the company’s Connect 2026 developer conference. The company said Friday that users can now ask Muse directly to put them on the list to try the new capabilities before anyone else.
The mechanism is unusually direct: Meta posted a prompt on X that, when copied and shared with Muse, logs the user as interested in the early access program. The prompt reads: “Can you let the Muse team know I want to be part of the Muse early access program?”
The approach breaks from how companies typically fill pilot programs — usually through invite-only betas or A/B tests with a randomized group, chosen to gather feedback and measure results. Meta is instead recruiting AI enthusiasts first, a tactic that could help it stay ahead of the competition, since this crowd tends to use multiple AI apps and agents and has a strong grasp of the market.
The features on offer were previewed at Connect: a digital avatar for Muse that users will be able to video chat with, an expanded roster of shopping partnerships and connectors, and a broader Muse Mac app that will soon be able to use a user’s computer to complete various tasks. Meta also said Muse would be coming to its lineup of AI glasses, letting users summon the agent by speaking a wake word and then issuing a command.
Why it matters
Meta’s own read is that these self-selected testers already use rival AI apps and agents, giving it a fast, informed read on whether Muse’s new avatar, shopping tools, and glasses integration can compete before a wider release.
