General Intuition in talks to raise at $6B valuation for robotics push

General Intuition, which trains AI agents to navigate space and time using gameplay data, is reportedly in talks to raise funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation, just weeks after a $320 million round at $2.3 billion.

New York-based General Intuition, a startup building a foundation model that trains generalized AI agents to move through space and time, is in talks to raise funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation from new investors including Valor Equity Partners, Point72 Ventures, and Seven Seven Six, according to people familiar with the matter. Existing investors Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst are also participating. The fresh funds would arrive just weeks after General Intuition raised $320 million at a $2.3 billion valuation.

CEO Pim de Witte spun the company out last October from his video-game clip-sharing platform Medal, using its hundreds of millions of hours of gameplay footage and “action labels” — records of which buttons a player pressed and when — as an initial training dataset. Investor Vinod Khosla has said he believes those action labels will be key to the “emergence of intuition,” or a model’s ability to generalize across tasks it wasn’t explicitly trained on.

General Intuition is still finalizing the round, and a source close to the deal said it is oversubscribed as the startup continues to field investor interest. The company intends to use the funds to improve its general model with a focus on robotic embodiments, which means spending more on compute infrastructure — it has a partnership with CoreWeave — and hiring more talent. Valor Equity Partners, known for backing SpaceX, would be making its first investment in an AI lab since SpaceX if the deal is confirmed; TechCrunch has reached out to Valor to confirm its participation.

Why it matters

A jump from a $2.3 billion valuation to $6 billion in a matter of weeks signals how much investor appetite is concentrating on “physical AI” — models meant to control robots rather than just generate text — as General Intuition tries to convert gaming data into a real-world robotics edge.
