Ninja's dual-chamber Slushi Twist makes two frozen drinks at once

Ninja's new Slushi Twist upgrades its original slushie machine with two independent 48-ounce vessels, letting users make two different frozen drinks — including cocktails and mocktails — at the same time.

Ninja has updated its Slushi lineup with the Slushi Twist, a machine built around two 48-ounce vessels instead of a single mixing chamber. Each side runs independently, so the machine can produce two completely different frozen drinks simultaneously — a slushie on one side and a milkshake on the other, for example. Beyond classic slushies, the machine can also make frappés, milkshakes, frozen coffees, and smoothies. Because the two chambers work independently, one side can stay alcohol-free for mocktails while the other mixes cocktails.

For entertaining, the dual-chamber design solves a common problem: instead of running multiple batches or forcing a group to agree on one flavor, both vessels can run at once. Ninja says the machine can make more than 10 drinks per batch, enough for a party-size crowd.

The Slushi Twist’s core feature is what Ninja calls “Dual SlushAssist” technology, which senses the ingredients in each chamber and adjusts the freezing temperature for that side automatically — so a milkshake can stay smooth on one side while a fruit slush freezes to an icy consistency on the other. A twist dispenser lets users pour each drink separately, or turn a dial on the drip tray to swirl both flavors into a single glass for layered drinks. Cleaning is handled with a rinse button that runs warm water through the machine until it comes out clear.

Two tradeoffs come with the added capability. The Slushi Twist is noticeably larger than the original model, requiring more counter or storage space, and at $399.99 it represents a significant investment. For occasional users, that may be more machine than necessary — but for larger households or frequent hosts, the dual-vessel design offers real added utility.

Why it matters

The Slushi Twist reflects a broader trend in home-appliance design toward parallel, customizable output — letting one device serve multiple preferences at once instead of forcing users to choose.
