Ninja launches $300 electric outdoor pizza oven
Ninja has launched a $300 electric outdoor pizza oven that reaches up to 700°F, offering a low-maintenance alternative to traditional wood-fired or propane models.
Ninja is launching the Ninja Artisan Outdoor Pizza Oven, a $300 electric appliance designed for users who want pizza nights without using propane or wood pellets. The product aims to bring restaurant-style pizza to home kitchens without the operational complexity of traditional wood-fired or propane setups. By utilizing electricity, the appliance removes the need to manage open flames or fuel sources, positioning itself as a more accessible entry point for home cooks. The setup process is straightforward, requiring users to unpack the oven and its pizza stone, plug it into a standard outdoor outlet, and begin preheating.
The hardware reaches a maximum temperature of up to 700°F and features five pizza settings to accommodate different styles. These settings allow users to cook 12-inch pizzas on the included pizza stone. The preheat process takes about 20 minutes, after which the oven can cook a pizza on the Neapolitan setting in just three minutes. Because the oven features heating elements on both the top and bottom, pizzas cook evenly and consistently without requiring the user to rotate the pie or constantly monitor the cooking process. Users can monitor the cooking progress through a small front window and an internal light, and adjust the cook time using a dial. The five built-in settings are:
- Neapolitan (which utilizes the maximum temperature of up to 700°F)
- New York (which uses a lower temperature and longer cook time for topping-heavy pizzas)
- Thin Crust
- Pan Pizza
- Custom
Crucially, the oven is not suitable for indoor use and must be operated strictly outdoors. Because it runs on electricity, the oven does not produce soot, making it fairly easy to clean compared to traditional alternatives. The interior can be wiped down with a damp cloth, while the pizza stone can be scraped clean of debris once it has cooled. Because the pizza stone is porous, it should not be washed with soap, which can cause it to absorb water and potentially crack under high heat. However, buyers should note that the appliance does not provide authentic wood-fired flavor. The oven is available in four colors: green and gold, blue and gold, black and gold, and dark gray.
