TechCrunch names 22 top clean tech startups from Startup Battlefield
TechCrunch has selected 22 clean tech and energy startups for its annual Startup Battlefield, highlighting innovations ranging from battery recycling to AI-powered carbon accounting.
TechCrunch has narrowed down thousands of applicants to 200 top contenders for its annual Startup Battlefield, the publication’s annual pitch contest. Of these, 20 startups will compete on the main stage for the Startup Battlefield Cup and a $100,000 cash prize, while the remaining 180 startups will compete in their own pitch competition.
The selection highlights 22 clean tech and energy startups applying diverse technologies to industrial and environmental challenges. Among the featured companies, HKG Energy says its silicon material increases battery performance by 80% and costs up to 40% less than conventional materials. EnyGy Limited claims its ultracapacitors boost energy densities up to double the capacity of alternatives while remaining cost-effective. Meanwhile, HyWatts says its modular system provides zero-emission, off-grid electricity at lower costs than battery storage.
