Lovable signs multiyear Google Cloud deal to boost usage fivefold
Stockholm-based Lovable has signed a multiyear deal with Google Cloud to increase its usage fivefold, while expanding access to Anthropic’s AI models and Wiz’s security tools.
On Wednesday, Stockholm-based startup Lovable announced an expanded multiyear collaboration with Google Cloud. Under the new agreement, Lovable will increase its footprint on Google Cloud fivefold. This expansion includes increased artificial intelligence usage, granting Lovable expanded access to Anthropic’s Claude and Google’s Gemini models.
The partnership integrates Lovable into the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery, which serves as Google Cloud’s marketplace for enterprise agents. This arrangement was first telegraphed at Google’s cloud conference in the U.S. in April. To secure code written by both humans and agents, Lovable will integrate with Wiz, a security integration partner. The integration will allow Wiz to identify and remediate security problems in real time. This security integration follows Google’s $32 billion acquisition of Wiz, which officially closed in March.
Lovable, which specializes in vibe-coding—a coding approach—is one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups. According to Lovable, its growth and enterprise adoption are highlighted by several key metrics:
- Annualized revenue: Crossed $400 million in February.
- Monthly growth: Added $100 million in revenue in a single month.
- Headcount: Reached 146 employees.
- Enterprise adoption: More than half of Fortune 500 companies use Lovable’s product.
The deal also aligns with Google’s broader strategy to support its massive capital expenditure plans. Google plans to spend $180 billion to $190 billion in capital expenditures this year. To cover some of this, Google is in the process of selling $85 billion in equity, leaving only another $100 billion or so in remaining capital expenditure funding needed. Enterprise deals like the Lovable partnership help generate the necessary revenue to offset these costs.
Additionally, the agreement supports Google’s deep financial ties with Anthropic. Google invested $10 billion in Anthropic in April, with a promise of $30 billion more if performance targets are met. That investment was made at a $350 billion valuation, just before Anthropic raised a $65 billion round that valued the company at nearly $1 trillion. Increased usage of Claude by fast-growing European startups like Lovable stands to help Anthropic hit those performance targets.
Why it matters
The deal involves a fivefold increase in Lovable’s footprint on Google Cloud, which helps Google generate the enterprise revenue needed to fund its planned $180 billion to $190 billion in capital expenditures this year.
