Eat App, a restaurant reservation platform based in Dubai, has secured $10 million in a Series B extension round—an additional funding round following its original $6 million Series B in 2022. The extension round was led by private equity firm PSG Equity through its portfolio company Zenchef SAS. This latest injection of capital brings Eat App’s total funding to date to over $23 million, as the company shifts its primary expansion focus toward the Indian market.

The company’s overall footprint and financial metrics include:

  • Total funding: Over $23 million raised to date.
  • Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR): $12 million.
  • Total reach: More than 5,000 restaurants served across over 92 countries.
  • Indian footprint: Over 2,000 restaurants.

To accelerate its growth in India, Eat App acquired rival reservation platform ReserveGo in mid-2025. ReserveGo, which was serving over 1,000 restaurants at the time of the acquisition, has averaged handling 5 million reservations per month over the last 12 months. Alongside the acquisition, Eat App formed a strategic partnership with Swiggy, the recently listed Indian food and grocery platform, to market its reservation and management tools to local restaurants. This joint solution, marketed in India as GroMax, has helped push Eat App’s total Indian restaurant count over 2,000, serving over 8 million covers—an industry term for restaurant guests served—by the end of the year. For comparison, Swiggy’s Dineout platform alone catered to over 23.8 million covers in 2025.

The expansion represents a strategic pivot for Eat App, whose largest market prior to India was the United Arab Emirates (UAE), followed by the U.S., the U.K., and Saudi Arabia. India’s food service industry is set to reach over $85 billion by 2028, according to industry reports. Nezar Kadhem, CEO of Eat App, noted strong parallels between India’s current trajectory and the company’s early days in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. “Honestly, like we see India, there’s very strong synergy and similarities between what we’ve seen in the [GCC] region eight, nine years ago, especially in Dubai, where we first, I would say, we were responsible for building that scaffolding, that tech infrastructure layer [for serving restaurants]. And we see a lot of similarities in India [to that],” Kadhem said. Swiggy’s Vice President of Strategy, Arpit Mathur, added that access to Eat App’s technology and AI-driven tools will help local restaurants improve management and guest experiences.

Why it matters

Eat App is leveraging a $10 million Series B extension, an acquisition of ReserveGo, and a partnership with Swiggy to scale its restaurant reservation business in India, aiming to replicate its success in the GCC region.
