Collide Capital announced on Thursday the close of a $95 million Fund II, which is the second investment fund raised by the firm. Co-founder Brian Hollins stated that it took the firm around 13 months to raise the capital. The firm hopes to deploy the fund over the next 3.5 years, targeting early-stage companies in fintech, supply chain, and the future of work.

Founded in 2021, the firm has backed 75 companies to date, following the close of its inaugural $66 million Fund I in 2022. For this new fund, Collide Capital secured backing from Limited Partners (investors in a venture fund), including:

  • University of California Endowment
  • Accolade Partners
  • Fairview Capital
  • Goldman Sachs
  • JPMorgan

The average check size from the new fund will be between $1 million and $3 million. The team hopes to back at least 30 companies, having already backed five. Other companies in the firm’s portfolio include Culina Health and Helios.

Separate from the fund raise, Collide Capital is expanding its Collide Campus program, which was launched in 2022. The initiative mentors students in venture capital and entrepreneurship. The undergraduate campus program operates on more than 20 campuses, and more than 50 students have passed through the program so far.

Co-founder Brian Hollins stated that the firm is particularly interested in platforms that enable automation, real-time collaboration, and faster, data-driven decision-making. Co-founder Aaron Samuels, who also co-founded the tech conference AfroTech, highlighted the firm’s mission, stating, “We’re connecting the best and the brightest with venture capital to match their grit and determination to build businesses the world needs,”.

Why it matters

Collide Capital’s successful raise demonstrates continued institutional appetite for specialized, early-stage funds that combine capital deployment with talent development programs like Collide Campus. The expansion of the campus program highlights how the firm aims to integrate talent development directly with its investment sourcing strategy.
